The Tuner Evolution brand as grown from a single show in a small town in Pennsylvania, to a full series of premier, multi-state automotive events to network and compete in. Wherever they host a car show, their name brings out the best that each city has to offer, from tuner to modern customs. In addition to the fierce battle for their extensive award categories, attendees are also entertained with R/C drifting, B-boy demo and other live music performances.
Battle at the Border, an event that earns it's name due to it's location between US and Canadian perimeters, started 10 years ago at a small race track and this weekend made it's return inside of the Buffalo Convention Center! Car competitors were judged for a wide range awards, even including a shot at a feature in Performance Auto & Sound magazine. Also unique to this event was the addition of a live Pro and Am BMX flat land competition.
We've been raving about this concept since our friends at JunkStyles x LowLifeStyle first introduced us to their “JunkFood Meet”; cars and food, together in one festive setting. This specific spectacle was their summer show, which boasted a fleet of unique food trucks coupled with a car show with the relaxed vibe of a local meet. Unfortunately, the weather decided to try and rain on the parade, but at least not until everyone got arrive in their rides and get some good eats in the truck's corral – which is where the AutoLife Tour booth was also situated, in direct line of sight and smell! Judging how great the whole staff and attendees attitudes contributed towards a good event, even in the midst of a cloudy day, we'd gladly take a raincheck for a return trip to any future JunkFood Meet!
Pomona, New York is a beautiful landscape, tucked just outside the big cities – and the last place you might expect to find a car show with standout builds – but, here we are reflecting back on the ballpark party, that boasted a wide vairety of customized vehicles. Open to anything from cars and trucks, lifted and lowered, we felt the one-day event was best enjoyed by admiring vehicles that are truly “street driven”; in the midst of track and events and judged car shows, it's nice to have a simple meet that brings out the vehicles people build for function and form. Despite competing with holiday vacationers and other weekend events, it was a beautiful day of weather and a great time for anyone that joined to gather.
How could the 2018 BC SpeedFest not be another one for the books? Not counting the fact that it's attached to the magnificent Battle Creek Field of Flight festival (full of air shows, carnival rides, live music, fair food and more), but the entire extended weekend was filled with thrills of top-speed runs down the a full half mile an an active airstrip! The cars ranged from customized street vehicles to highly modified high-end exotics, from all over this country (and Canada!). What made attending the event fun for us, was that the spectators that visited us and watched the performance were from all types of backgrounds (from die-hard car guys to newcomers learning about our passionate hobby). It was a great way to spend the 4th of July holiday, with gearheads and family alike. We'll see you next year!
Anything that the Carlisle Events team throws down, we're pretty much game for; We've attended an array of amazing automotive shows with them over many years, and it just keeps getting better. The 2018 Carlisle Import & Performance show was no different. This was the first time that the AutoLife Tour has attended this specific show, and in all the time that we 'think' we've seen it all when it comes to import shows, this show proved us wrong. When you hear the words “import show,” you typically picture the modern tuner crowd – but, this show literally means ALL imports, from ALL years, from ALL genres (also, US platforms are welcomed as well!). What a spectacle. We saw such a unique and vast variety that it reignited the flame for all things foreign. Yes, the rain did come hard for those who watched the weather reports, but we tipped out hats to just about every single car owner, as they repeatedly wiped their cars down and kept them looking good for show goers. Regardless of the weather, count us in for next year!
